Adventure Zone Playground is an accessible playground that allows all children, regardless of their ability, to play side by side.

Adventure Zone Playground will be part of Adventure Zone at 1775 Lambs Gap Road in Hampden & Silver Spring Townships. It is the first playground of its kind on the West Shore and the second of its kind in the Harrisburg area.

Adventure Zone Playground will be the result of hundreds of individuals and businesses partnering for a better community.

Adventure Zone Playground will be part of a 53 acre community park being developed by Capital Area Christian Church. The park also includes picnic pavilions, soccer fields, volleyball courts, softball fields, a winter recreation area, and fitness trail.

Continuing to Enhance the Playground

The bathrooms will re-open on April 15th - complete with partitions!

(The bathrooms will close every winter and re-open in the spring.)

We will continue to enhance the area around the playground.

This year our goal is to work on the following projects:

  • Add more picnic tables - re-stain existing ones
  • Place more benches throughout the park
  • Put changing stations in the bathrooms
  • Make improvements to the sandbox
  • Put up new signage; ex: Child Crossing
  • Install motion detectors throughout the park
  • Build trash bins for regular and recycling trash
  • Build bridges to the path
  • Build a cooking fireplace in the pavilion
  • Install an entrance sign to the park

In order to make these enhancements, we must continue to raise funds. You can give to Adventure Zone Playground by making checks out to TFEC (The Foundation for Enhancing Communities) and mailing them to Adventure Zone Playground, PO Box 593 New Kingston, Pa. 17072-0593 or dropping them in the drop box that will be installed later this summer.

We will also continue to sell fencepost for $50 or wood tiles that can be painted for $10. Both items can be ordered online and tiles can be picked up in the church office.

Please Note:

We have to accumulate a number of fencepost before they will be engraved. A local business donates their time and machinery to make this happen so they have to have be done in bulk.

Pavers are no longer available for sale.

Many thanks to all of you for making this dream become a reality.

The Playground is Open!

But funds are still needed.

There are some finishing touches to the bathrooms not the least of which are the partitions for between the toilets. (They alone are over $5,000!) The project is coming to a close but we need you to help finance the final touches to the project! If you would like to help, you can make a donation on line or send a check to TFEC - The Foundation for Enhancing Communities.

Memo: Adventure Zone Playground PO Box 593 New Kingston, Pa. 17072-0593.

Together we can make this happen!
